Craig Clevenger
I've recently finished an intensive writing workshop with the immensley clever, Craig Clevenger and I have to say I was gobsmacked by how amazing an exprience it was. A few months ago I posted about my book involving the adventures of Doris and her time travelling cat. (my last post) At the time I thought I had polished the first five chapters - oh how wrong I was, and how much I have learned in the space of only 2 weeks.
I have much more confidence now and have embarked on a rewrite of the early parts of this book, and am hoping to share some soon. Now I just need someone to kick me up the ass often and tell me to finish it! That way I can start work on all of the other characters that live on Mulberry Avenue such as Alan Rocket and Penny Pendleton...
I also can't seem to stick to any particular book at present either and have a huge number that are in various stages of being read! Imprimatur is going well as a favourite and is a good story, but I am also reading the Hermetica, Kindly Ones, The Looming Towers (about 9/11), Physics of the Impossible and the pillow book of Sei Shonagon... and thats just *some* of them!! If I can't find the exact book I want to read I guess that should be more impetus to write it myself!
Oh and a final thought, if you haven't been to see the film Moon by Duncan Jones (David Bowies son) then you should try to before it disappears, a very well thought out sci-fi. Now I am waiting for District 9 which also looks interesting and of course the sequel to Mesrine.
Time to visit the sandman - sleep well all.
